Muirlands students make the cut for the San Diego Unified School District Honor Band and Honor Orche

Congratulations to the following Muirlands students who beat the fierce competition against over a thousand other SDUSD band and orchestra students to earn a coveted seat in the District’s Honor Band and Honor Orchestra.

Middle School (7th & 8th Grade) Honor Band:

Katherine Perrine (8th grade, French Horn)

Kayla Nitahara (8th grade, Trumpet)

Kevin Park (6th grade, Flute)

Middle School (7th & 8th Grade) Honor Orchestra:

Maya Lightfoot (8th grade, Violin)

Warren Chang (8th grade, Violin)

Bohan Chen (6th grade, Violin)

Travis Wang (6th grade, Violin)

Elementary School (5th & 6th Grade) Honor Band:

Lauren Nitahara (6th grade, Trumpet)

They have several tough weeks of practice ahead of them, culminating in a concert, which is free to all. The Middle School concert will be held on Sunday, March 15, at 7 p.m. at Point Loma Nazarene’s Brown Chapel. The Elementary School concert will be held on Thursday, May 14, at 7 p.m. at Point Loma Nazarene’s Brown Chapel. You are invited to come enjoy the evening performances -- you won’t believe your ears!
